Getting to Ubud

To get to Bali, you would fly into I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.

Depending on traffic, Ubud is roughly 1 to 2 hours away by car from Canggu/Seminyak and the airport, respectively. Transport is easily accessible via GoGek or Grab. It should cost you roughly 250,000-350,000 IDR - or the equivalent of $25-$30 AUD.

If you are an Australian or French passport holder, you will require a visa to enter Indonesia.

While you can obtain this upon arrival, we'd highly recommend organising this prior to your arrival to avoid lengthy queues at the airport. You will need: Step 1: VISA On Arrival Using this link: https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/web/application_bvk simply choose your Visa Type - B1. For e-VOA there is only ONE official Government website, please avoid other sites that charge triple the price. Fill in your details. Carefully cross check them all and tick each box below if correct. Choose to pay online. You can pay on arrival but it’s much quicker to do online. Price is 500,000 IDR per person (around $50 AUD - 30 EUR) for a 30 day stay (B1 Tourist Visa) Once this is done, you can then skip the payment and immigration queues and use the e-Gates to self scan yourself through Immigration. Head straight past the lines to the e-Gates. Once you head through the gate, you grab your luggage and then head through customs. Tips: Generally issued instantly or within 24 hours. We’d recommend taking a screenshot of your application number.. All travellers aged 6 years and older can use the e-Gates Travellers under under 6 years of age CAN obtain an e-VOA but need to be processed manually at Immigration. Queue together as a group and they will be assisted by officers while you scan through. Step 2: Electronic Customs Declaration (ECD) Once you’ve done the VOA, you must do the Electronic Customs Declaration (ECD). It is a separate requirement and a different website with NO cost. Obtain 1-72 hours prior to departure via this link: https://ecd.beacukai.go.id Step 3: Health Pass SATUSEHAT Health Pass (SSHP) for Entry to Republic of Indonesia via this link: https://sshp.kemkes.go.id Step 4: Tourism Levy Tourism Levy is also separate and is 150,000 IDR per passenger ($15 AUD). Obtain up to 60 days prior to departure using this link: https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id Travel Tips 💡 August is high season in Bali, so we’d recommend getting the ball rolling on planning / booking as soon as you can. 💡Card is readily accepted throughout Bali, although you may need cash for smaller vendors (including markets). We’d recommend getting your cash exchanged over in Australia for ease. 💡Most items are readily available in Bali, although we would recommend bringing your sunscreen from home, as it can be quite pricey to buy on the island!
